So we are now closing in on the end of track season with only two races left. This season has had a lot of ups and downs so far but have helped me grow in my mentality as well as a person as a whole. It has been challenging but really lead me back to the One who has provided me with this opportunity and the ability to run and run fast! I have been having to make sure that I rely on Him and not worry about anything else. One thing I have always struggled with since high school is the fear of failing. But in perspective it does not matter how I do I just need to trust God and my training I have done and “Just Do It” like the Nike slogan says. I need to not give up just because people pass me or I’m too afraid I’m not going to get the time I want. I need to go out and during every race use my ability to run the hardest I can and beat as many people as I can for my audience of one. I think that if I am able to keep this mindset the times and everything else will come along with it. I just need to have FAITH and TRUST! My favorite verse which is tattooed on my side is Philippians 3:13-14 “Forgetting what is behind, and straining towards what is ahead, I press on towards the goal to win the prize in which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.” Who cares what has happened in the past. The past is the past and now that I have this new found mentality I’m ready to GO!
